This year's Bon Odori festival returned to the city in full spirit, and this time it found its home at LaLaport BBCC (Bukit Bintang City Centre) — one of Kuala Lumpur's most vibrant new landmarks, standing in the shadow of the iconic Merdeka 118. Thousands of visitors gathered under strings of red and gold lanterns for an evening that blended Japanese tradition with the energy of the city, and right in the middle of it all, MADBEEF was there serving up the sizzle.
- A Festival That Filled the Lawn
From late afternoon onward, the open lawn in front of the main stage steadily filled with families, friends and festival-goers, many seated together on mats as the sun dipped behind the KL skyline. By nightfall, the crowd had grown into the thousands, all facing the stage as taiko rhythms and Bon Odori music carried across the grounds. It was a rare sight — a proper matsuri atmosphere set against a backdrop of glittering skyscrapers.

Festival-goers came dressed for the occasion, many in beautifully patterned yukatas, twirling between food stalls and photo spots as the lanterns flickered on. It's the kind of night where a skewer in one hand and a cup of something cold in the other is practically a uniform — and that's exactly where MADBEEF came in.

Tucked among the row of festival stalls, the "日本の牛串" — Japan Wagyu Skewer booth by MADBEEF quickly became one of the busiest corners of the event. Long queues formed as the grill sizzled, with visitors drawn in by the aroma of 100% wagyu beef being charred to perfection right before their eyes. From young couples to families with children, everyone wanted a taste of that signature MADBEEF marbling — rich, tender, and unmistakably premium.
- From Sunset to Stage Lights
As the sky shifted from golden dusk to deep blue night, the festival transformed with it. The stage lit up in red and gold, performers took to the platform, and the crowd — many still holding onto their MADBEEF skewers — settled in for a night of music, dance and community spirit. In the distance, the city's skyline glowed alongside the lanterns, a perfect reminder of how Bon Odori has found a new, unforgettable home in the heart of KL.
